This website is provided and controlled by Thenamaris (Ships Management) Inc., of 80 Broad Street, Monrovia, Liberia, with a registered office at 16 Athinas Street, Vouliagmeni 16671, Greece (hereinafter referred to as “Thenamaris”).

It is intended that the present privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as “Privacy Policy”) complies with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”). In addition, the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use govern the treatment by us of any information, including but not limited to personally identifiable information (personal data), you may from time to time submit to us. Please note that certain information, statements and content which you may voluntarily submit to us, could reveal your gender, ethnic origin, nationality, age, and/or other personal data about you. The Privacy Policy applies to all personal data, as same are defined in the GDPR, including the special categories of personal data, which are processed by Thenamaris, in its capacity as data controller, for all individuals with whom it has a business (or other) relationship, including but not limited to its employees, seafarers employed on board vessels it manages and business partners, external consultants, clients, suppliers, visitors and job applicants.

You fully acknowledge, confirm, accept and agree that when you submit personal data and/or non-personal information of whatever nature and/or content to Thenamaris voluntarily, you agree with the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.

1. Collection and Use of Personal Data

We may collect personal data including but not limited to your name, mailing address, e-mail address, phone number, date of birth, contact preferences and other information only when voluntarily provided by you. Our website is intended for a general audience, however, we do not knowingly collect personal data about any person under the age of 18. We may also use the personal data you may submit for internal/administrative purposes such as data analysis and research to improve Thenamaris’ management systems.

2. Protection of Personal data

The protection of your personal data is a major priority to us. We respect your right to confidentiality and we take precautions including technical, operational and physical measures to protect your personal data against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Privacy impact assessments are also conducted, as necessary, in accordance with Thenamaris’ policies and the applicable legislation. The personal data you voluntarily submit is visible to Thenamaris’ shore-based personnel. You are responsible for the personal data you choose to submit in these instances. When your personal data are no longer needed, we securely delete or encrypt them. We may also save your personal data for a longer period of time, as necessary, in order to fulfil a legal obligation which requires processing by law or in order for us to protect or defend our legal rights.

5. Purposes of Processing Personal Data

We may use and process the data you submit in order to accommodate your requests and inquiries and comply with applicable laws and legislation. Your personal data are required for communication purposes with a view of potentially setting up a collaboration with you. Your data may also be used and processed in considering an application for a vacancy within our Company. Without this data Thenamaris will not be able to communicate with you or enter into a contractual agreement with you. This includes both business and employment contracts.

Your personal data collected by Thenamaris may be stored and processed in the European Union or in any other country as necessary. Should Thenamaris need to transfer your personal data, Thenamaris will take all necessary and appropriate measures to ensure that the transfer of your personal data is conducted securely and in compliance with the requirements of the GDPR.

8. Position Openings

Thenamaris may from time to time post job opportunities on its website. Suitable candidates may forward their CV in accordance with the instructions and the “Notice of Processing of Personal Data” as provided in that section of the website. The acceptance of the users’ CV does not in any way constitute an offer of employment. Thenamaris exercises reasonable efforts to maintain the confidentiality of the CVs of the candidates in accordance with the applicable laws and legislation.

9. Cookie Policy

We use cookies to ensure we give you the best experience on our website. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make the website work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to Thenamaris. This information is collected by the users’ browser (Service Provider, IP address, browser type, operating system, websites previously visited, time of the server enquiry) and cannot be credited to a specific user, therefore no personal identification can be registered by our systems. The user remains anonymous.

The Privacy Policy accounts for the way in which we protect the privacy of our users.
