Thenamaris invites high caliber professionals to apply for the position of Assistant Accountant in the MGA (Master’s General Account) section of the Accounting department.
The role of the Assistant Accountant in the MGA section includes several responsibilities aimed at maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing valuable financial insights. The Assistant Accountant prepares payments for crew members, posts accounting entries related to MGA bills and crew balances and performs reconciliations between the Master’s General Account and the accounting books. Communication with the Masters is also a key responsibility of the role. The individual may also be involved in various projects of the MGA team.
The position is permanent and is based in Athens (Vouliagmeni), Greece.
Education, Experience & Skills
To be considered for this role, you should meet the below requirements:
- One (1) to three (3) years of professional experience in an Accounting department preferably in shipping, external auditing or multinational companies
- University degree (BSc and preferably also MSc) in Accounting & Finance and/or Economics
- Good knowledge of applicable Accounting standards; Strong familiarity with ERP and Accounting IT tools; Experience in SAP system will be considered an asset
- The ideal candidate must be a responsible individual with team-oriented mindset
- Emphasis is also placed on candidate’s loyalty, integrity, and attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in English at a written and oral level is a prerequisite
- Excellent PC literacy, advanced user of MS Office
