Position Description

The Planned Maintenance System (PMS) Engineer is responsible for structuring the vessels’ technical equipment hierarchy for newbuilding and second-hand vessels, including the creation or amendment of required planned maintenance works and related job descriptions based on industry requirements and through the constant review of vessels’ drawings and feedback from the end users. The role also monitors the controlled spares, the bulk requisitioning process and other special purchase orders, assisting where necessary.

Other key accountabilities of this role include suggesting the classification of critical equipment, and training and providing support to end-users onboard or ashore as needed.

Candidates applying should have the following profile:

Education, Experience & Skills

  • Degree in Mechanical, Marine or Electrical Engineering from a University or Technical Institution is required; engineering graduates from the Merchant Marine Academy will also be considered
  • Previous experience of 1-3 years at similar roles, with proved exposure to PMS systems is desired, whilst shipping industry awareness and exposure to technical roles are considered very important; knowledge on vessel’s machinery equipment will be considered a strong asset
  • Familiarity with IT systems and automated processes
  • Proficiency in English, both written and oral

The position is permanent and is based at the company’s headquarters, in Athens (Vouliagmeni) Greece.
