Position Description

The Marine Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the LPG fleet complies with company procedures and statutory regulations, and monitoring crew training to ensure onboard training is completed as per company requirements.

Duties include vessel attendance to perform superintendent inspection, organizing industry and third-party inspections and close-out of corresponding observations, as well as analysis of associated trends. The individual will regularly report on company managed vessels with specific reference to safety, navigational, cargo and marine related issues, including on board audits related to ISM, ISO, ISPS and OHSAS standards as well as incident investigation on safety, navigational, cargo and marine related incidents.

Candidates applying should have the following profile:

Education, Experience & Skills

  • Previous sailing experience as Master on-board LPG vessels; proven knowledge of LPG vessel operations and equipment is required
  • Previous experience in an office role with duties of an LPG Marine Superintendent will be a strong asset although not a prerequisite. Superintendents with sailing experience as Master on board Tanker or LNG vessels may also be considered
  • Additional academic qualifications in any shipping related field will be considered an advantage
  • Proficiency in English, both written and oral
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
  • Flexibility to travel is also required

The position is permanent and is based at the company’s headquarters, in Athens (Vouliagmeni) Greece.
