Position Description

The Assistant Ship Superintendent role supports Ship Superintendents in their daily work related to vessels’ operation and maintenance. Attending dry docking and/or ad hoc ship repairs or vessel inspections, handling communication with vessels, manufacturers, providers and technical companies.

Key accountabilities of the role include assistance in various tasks like PMS updates, status of outstanding issues of vessels, class surveys preparation, workshops assessment, dry docks specification preparation, shipyards pricing comparison and vetting observations.

Candidates applying should have the following profile:

Education, Experience & Skills

  • University graduate in any of the disciplines of Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Marine or Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experience as assistant superintendent engineer in LNG, LPG or Tankers is required
  • Previous experience in the supervision of LNG newbuildings and / or service on board LNG or LPG ships will be considered a strong asset
  • Ability to deliver results under tight deadlines and work effectively as a team member
  • Strong communication skills combined with the ability to work in a multinational environment
  • Proficiency in English, both oral and written
  • Very good use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Flexibility for frequent travelling is required

The position is permanent and is based at the company’s headquarters, in Athens (Vouliagmeni) Greece.
